• Porziafinally opened this week in Parkdale. The much anticipated Italian eatery that got in just before the moratorium takes reservations (woot!) and is currently cooking up octopus, sweetbreads and fresh baked cookies. Check outthe sample menu here.

• Frank Restaurant at The AGO (317 Dundas Street West) presentsAn Egg and A Crust of Breadon Saturday, January 26 from 10:30 am to 2 pm. Starting with breakfast hors d'oeuvres and a cocktail reception, a guided tour will take in the Josef Sudek exhibition and follow with a prix fixe brunch at Frank.
• Scott Vivian (Beast) and chef Bertrand AlĂŠpĂŠe (formerlyAmuse-Bouche) share their favourite dishes when they presentThe Tempered Beaston Monday and Tuesday, January 8th and 29th. The four-course tasting dinner takes place at Beast Restaurant (96 Tecumseth Street) at 7pm. Tickets are $60 and available directly through the restaurant.
• The Rusholme Park Supper Club atThe Depanneur(1033 College Street) hostsA Garlic Lovers' Dreamwith Kerri & Ashlee Cooper. The theme ingredient will be featured in a soup and salad as well as the main; an 88 Clove Lamb & Cardamom Pot Pie. Even dessert will see some candied garlic in play. Tickets are $40.
• The Sunday, January 27th edition of The Stop's Beer Garden has been cleverly renamedBlankets & Brews. Taking place at The Wychwood Barns (601 Christie St., Barn 4) between 1 and 5 pm, this event promises $5 beers and bites from Amsterdam andK-Song Taco, plus there will be a fire and marshmallows. • The first edition ofFarmhouse Tavern's newHunt Camptakes place on Wednesday, January 30th. This intimate dinner series from Chef Alex Molitz focuses on fish and game meats and includes wine pairings. Hunt Camp will run on Wednesdays until April 24th, but tickets should be purchased in advance as seating is limited to only 6 per evening.
• The Drake Hotel(1150 Queen Street West) partners with the Toronto Fashion Incubator to present the ninth annual Guilty Pleasures Brunch taking place on Saturday, February 2nd. Enjoy mimosas with a three course brunch ($38), then browse pop-up shops stocked by local apparel and accessories designers.
• Midfield Wine Baris celebrating the tastes of the Piemonte region in Northern Italy this Sunday (the 27th) with a sampling of wine and food from the area. Featured producers include Elvio Cogno, Castello di Verduno, Produttori del Barbaresco, Maurizio Ponchione, and Cordero di Montezemolo. You can choose from a $39 prix fixe menu with a 3 x 3oz wine flight or go a la carte for both wine and food.More details here.
