It seems like nobody has time for anything any more. OK, maybe the days of spending two or three years of your life toiling to make a ten-minute short film are still with us, but more and more filmmaking events are being structured around cutting the length clean out of the picture. TheOne Minute Film Festival? The (now defunct) On The Fly 24-hour challenge? Get ready for theToronto Film Race.

American in origin (what "screw the content, work faster" mantra isn't?), Film Racing is touring around the continent and will land in Toronto on Saturday, July 7. For the race, Toronto filmmakers will be challenged to make a short film in just 12 hours - that'll be noon to midnight, for those who thought On the Fly's 24-hour spin around the production demiverse was just too taxing on the REM cycle. Once they're done, the flicks will be screened a few days later for fabulous cash and prizes.

Registration is available through theevent web site, and the early deadline for teams (with its $81 fee) is tomorrow, June 14th.
