Morning Brew: New photos and lawsuits from G20, busy day for Toronto Police and ETF, Leafs win 4th straight, face scanners at the casino
New photos and now another lawsuit from last summer's G20: The Special Investigations Unit is beinggiven new photos of the arrestof Dorian Barton, who says police assaulted him during the G20 weekend, breaking his right arm and giving him a black eye. The SIU looked into Barton's case, along with five others, but concluded in November there wasn't enough evidence to lay charges in any of them. Now new photos have surfaced, and today Barton and his lawyers will announce at a news conference that they are taking civil action against the Toronto Police Services Board and seven officers who are not identified in the statement.

Toronto Police and the Emergency Task Force had a busy day yesterday. First, there was atwo-hour morning stand-offat Yonge and Gerrard Streets. Then there was the incident withtwo suspicious looking suitcaseswhich were left unattended in front of CSIS offices, shutting down a section of Front Street. Turns out they contained little more than clothes and travel necessities. Then later on, the area around Front and John Streets was shutdown after a police altercation with a man led to him being tasered at about 7:30 p.m.
