Lullabye Arkestraare about to embark on a cross-Canadian tour, and to celebrate the occasion they have release a free digital EP for download. The three-track collection is entitledHeart Like a Wheeland is being distributed online viaVice Records, where you can pick up a ZIP file of the songs in exchange for your email address.

Have a Fucked Up Record Store Day in 2010
Record Store Dayfalls on April 17 this year, and Fucked Up have already announced the details of their plans for my favourite holiday of the year (not that I ever need an excuse to spend hours in a record store). They'll be releasing a 7" featuring a pair ofDaytrottercuts of songs fromCouple Tracksand a b-side called 'Crooked Head.' The single will haveeleven different covers, with ten of the variations paying tribute to some of Fucked Up's favourite US record stores. Fucked Up will be headlining what is sure to be an epic show at the Opera House with Kurt Vile and Peasant on February 26.

Nominees Announced for the 2010 Indie Awards
Nominees are out for the 2010 Indies, with plenty of nods going to local artists including Timber Timbre, Constantines, D-Sisive, The Wooden Sky, Grand Analog, Great Lake Swimmers, Metric, Alexisonfire and more. The annual awards ceremony goes down Saturday March 13 and serves as the closing party for CMW. Check out the完整的列表of nominees.

Third Floor Sessions Gear Up for Round Two
Back in December I wrote about theThird Floor Sessionsproject that was going on at Ryerson University. The crew are gearing up for a second set of sessions in 2010, and are currently selling SPIRITlive t-shirts toraise fundsfor the performances. Shirts are available in five colours, and you get to wear one knowing that you supported a great local music initiative.

Aux.tv presents Morning Noon Night: Evening Hymns at the Tranzac

-Metricsparked a small controversy last week regarding their methods of raising funds for earthquake relief in Haiti. After appearing in a telethon the band designed a new shirt to help aid the struggling country, but wereaccusedof "likening their pop star angst to a human tragedy of epic proportions" after the shirts were seen to be adorned with the name of their hit single 'Help, I'm Alive.' The band quickly apologized for the misinterpretation, and have offered to replace the shirt with an updated design if the purchasers are unhappy with the original.

- Rockets Red Glare put on a spectacularreunion showduring Wavelength 500, and have announced plans for at least one more show before the end of the month. Toronto diehards will be disappointed to hear that the show is all the way in Montreal as part ofBlue Skies Turn Black's tenth anniversary concert on February 27. Chart Attackspoke withguitarist Evan Clarke about the future of RRG.

Make Your Exit - Minilogues

- Spinner has an interview with Laura Barrett ofSheezer, the all-female Weezer cover band, in which shespeaks aboutRivers Cuomo's take on the group.

-Chromais a ballet set to orchestrated versions of songs by theWhite Stripes, as re-imagined by composerJoby Talbot. The ballet made its debut in 2006 in London, England, and will be opening at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto on November 24 for a limited run through to November 28. Tickets will go on sale through the National Ballet of Canada'swebsiteon September 27.
