MONDAY JUNE 11 / DEER TICK / LEE'S PALACE / 529 BLOOR W / $28.13 / 19+

I never realized it before, but there's a fair amount of bands with the word "Deer" in their name. Deerhunter, Deerhoof, Deer Tick...well, ok, maybe there's not that many. But I digress.Deer Tick, I would argue, is one of the finest alt-country/folk bands currently recording music. If this style of music is your thing, you really owe it you yourself to be at Lee's Palace tonight. Turbo Fruits and The Novaks will also be on hand to offer support.

TUESDAY JUNE 12 / WINTERSLEEP / LEE'S PALACE / 529 BLOOR W / $25 / 19+

When I was first introduced toWintersleepa few years ago, I was very lukewarm on them. But over time, my appreciation for them has grown, and now, I can easily call them one of my favourite Canadian bands. They're probably most well known for their 2007 single "Weighty Ghost," but this is far from their best song - their catalogue is extensive and filled with very eclectic tunes. For 25 bucks, this concert is an absolute steal.

FRIDAY JUNE 15 / COUNTING CROWS / ECHO BEACH / 909 LAKESHORE W / $63 / ALL AGES

This one might divide some readers, especially when you consider that the ticket price isn't cheap. However, there's no denying the fact that much of theCounting Crows' repertoire is semi-classic (mostly their earlier stuff - their later stuff has unquestionably between more miss than hit). And they're a band that is perfectly suited for Echo Beach, one of Toronto's newest venues, and one that is well worth checking out. Gold Old War, Foreign Fields and Filligar will open.

FRIDAY JUNE 15 / DAVID ARCUS ENSEMBLE / THE MUSIC GALLERY / 197 JOHN / $25 / ALL AGES

If you're looking for something a bit different, look no further than this interesting show at the little-known Music Gallery.David Arcusis a musician and composer, perhaps best known for his work on Aline Morales' Juno-nominated albumFlores, Tambores e Amores(a sample of which you can hear above). For this show, his first, he's compiled an 11-member ensemble, including Morales on vocals. A plethora of different music styles will be on display, all of them composed by Arcus. Local group Bernice will also be on hand to perform an opening set.

SATURDAY JUNE 16 / RADIOHEAD / DOWNSVIEW PARK / 35 CARL HALL RD / $81 / ALL AGES

Disclaimer: I've never been all that fond ofRadiohead. While I understand that their music has its positives, I've just never been able to really appreciate it. But they're one of the most popular bands of the modern era, and there's no doubt that Downsview Park is going to be absolutely rammed for this one. The ticket prices are steep, and it wouldn't surprise me if the show has already been sold out. But if you're a fan, you probably already have your tickets, so it doesn't even matter. Caribou will open.
