It was the unexpected trade of the summer last night as the Blue Jaysswapped Jose Reyes and top prospectsto the Colorado Rockies for all star Troy Tulowitzki and veteran reliever LaTroy Hawkins.

The surprise move, which comes as the Blue Jays chase the Yankees for a playoff spot is reminiscent of theMcGriff, Fernandez, Carter, Alomar tradethat shaped the World Series winning Jays teams in the early 1990s.
