Belle's Bakery is a spot for fresh bread and housemade meat pies, empanadas, and brownies.

Step downstairs to head into this bakery and cafe owned by Izabelle Tenorio (who the shop is named after) and her husband Eduardo Martins, whose previous gigs includeEl CatrinandBuca.

There's WiFi here and some seating, which, coupled with sandwiches, weekly lunch specials, and caffeine viaBarocco Coffee,让这个地方一个像样的洞穴le down with some work.

All coffee drinks, including cappuccinos ($3.75) and a festive eggnog latte ($4.75) use the Scuro roast.

Arranged at the front of the shop are bagels fromThe Bagel House, and loaves of bread like dark rye, pam de campagne, and spelt, some fromMabels, though Tenorio and Martins also bake up their own buns like pain au lait, focaccia, and challah.

The glass case in the back is where you'll find all the signature baked eats, like small Australian-style meat pies with veggie, chicken, or beef ($5.25-$5.99).

French quiches come with veggie and chicken, but the ham and cheese ($4.80) is great.

Argentinian beef empanadas are $4 each.

An order of three Pao deQuiejo bites ($2.75) are my favourite.Tenorio and Martins bring this popular Brazilian cheese bread—which uses a special cheese from the region Minas Gerais, where the snack originates from—over via Brazilian brandMaricota.A mixed berry galette, with a beautiful crust, is too pretty to eat.

A super dense Gateau Basque is filled with vanilla cream and dusted with powdered sugar.What's essentially an open-faced New York-style baked cheese cake is made with a graham cracker crust, and filled with a blueberry jam, made from berries foraged in Sudbury.

Housemade baked goods sold alongside coffee makes Belle's a welcome Annex pit stop, regardless of whether you're in the mood something sweet or savoury.
