Bulldog Coffee is one of my favourite places in the city for an energy boost. A one time fixture on the local coffee scene in and around the Church-Wellesley Village, their sole location is now at theAssembly Chef's Hallin the Financial District.

The thing to get here is their infamous Bulldog ($5.25), a cappuccino-latte hybrid. It packs a caffeinated punch with two shots of espresso in it, but you can choose to add four shots instead.

Owner and former award winning barista Stuart Ross can still be found here behind the counter. A banker turned third wave coffee pioneer who might have brought therainbow latteto Toronto, Ross is a fountain of coffee knowledge who lends a high-energy vibe to his stall.

The marshmallow latte ($6) is something you won't find anywhere else. Prepared in a martini glass with a chocolate sauce-drizzled rim, the drink is filled with marshmallows before being doused in hot milk. After adding a shot of espresso, the marshmallows are torched to a charred crisp.

It’s not a drink that you would order everyday but it's definitely a fun option for an afternoon date or treat for yourself.

The rainbow latte ($6) is a colourful concoction that’s sweet and pretty. Inspired by the latte art of Vegas’Sambalatte, Bulldog adds food colouring to the milk after steaming it, layering it into beautiful leafy designs.

Besides its killer caffeinated drinks, Bulldog serves orange juice squeezed from Greek oranges and Genuine tea ($3).

They also have their own line of granola which includes five different types like turmeric and charcoal.

Baked goods made at theMira Mirastall include Rice Krispie Biscotti and Chewy, Crunchie, Sweet, and Salty bars that range between $3 and $4.50.

Bulldog is open mornings and afternoons and transforms into a separately run wine bar after 5 p.m.
