It's all over for the Brunny. The famed Annex watering hole announced earlier today it will be shutting down at the end of March.The Brunswick House, which had been operating on a month to month basis sincethe landlord terminated its lease last year, posted amessage to its Facebook pageconfirming the inevitable:

Everything comes to an end and like an undefeated champion, the Brunny must now retire on top and more beautiful and better than ever.

Owner Abbis Mahmoud has promised not to go out without one last bash. There will be a closing party on March 31. After that, it's still unclear what will happen to the space. Rumours surfaced in November thata Boston Pizza might be moving inbut there's no word yet on the new tenant.

One Last Dance with a Legendary Lady.

It is with great pride and sorrow that I announce the legendary Brunswick House will be closing on March 31 after 140 years of memory making history. I am very proud to have reopened the Brunny 10 great years ago after it was closed for a while and bringing it back to its shining glory.

Everything comes to an end and like an undefeated champion, the Brunny must now retire on top and more beautiful and better than ever.

I would like to personally invite all past owners, staff and customers of The Brunswick House to say goodbye and have one last drink.

I want to thank all my great staff, past and present, especially Ryan Wilson, Joe Cappiello, Braden Rubinoff, James Webb, Christa Godin-Webb, Keith Loveless, Tom Paonessa and so many more.

I want to thank the Brunny herself for all the great memories, all the good times, and for all the epic fights, the fights to re-open the Brunny and stay open against all odds.

Thank you for the memories and thank you for teaching me the bigger the fight, the bigger the reward and growth. There will never be another Brunny.
