Enrico's Pizza

Enrico's Pizza serves traditional Italian pies, fanciful fusion dishes, and delicious appetizers.

Founded in 1971, this humble pizza parlour has been a favourite haunt for high school students for more than half a century.

Owner Amjad Asif, who took over in 2021, says the pizzeria was originally located on Queen Street but moved to Kingston Road after several years of operation.

"It's a good neighbourhood," he explains, referring to the stretch of road between Birchmount and Victoria Park. "The clients are nice, the weather is good, and on top of that, it's close to the lake."

Many visitors take advantage of the pleasant climate by eating outside. Since the dining room consists of only two tables, this is frequently the only option: Enrico's is tiny, even for a takeout joint.

恩里科的还提供了各种各样的油炸appetizers, too. Classic poutine is by far the most popular (especially among teenagers), but other options prove just as tasty.

Marinara is the traditional choice, but ranch dressing and teriyaki sauce make great alternatives.enricos pizza torontoThe Deluxe Pizza ($13.99) is as decadent as its name implies: the extra-cheesy pie has three types of meat (pepperoni, salami and bacon) and five types of veggies (green olives, green peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, and onions).

If eight toppings aren't enough for you, anchovies can be added upon request.

Though I found the multitude of flavours a bit overwhelming, Amjad claims that it's one of his best sellers. One regular customer even orders it on a weekly basis.

"She comes in all the time and I've never seen her order anything else," he says with a smile.

enricos pizza torontoThe Donair Pizza ($13.99) is one of Amjad's personal favourites. Taking inspiration from Turkish street food, it comes topped with ground meat, onions, tomatoes, and mozzarella cheese. Donair sauce is used in lieu of tomato sauce, giving the dish a slightly sweeter tang.enricos pizza torontoThe Tandoori Spicy Chicken Pizza ($13.99) shows off its South Asian roots by pairing mozzarella and marinara sauce with tandoori-style chicken, onions, jalapeño peppers, and banana peppers.enricos pizza torontoIt's hardly fine dining, but there's a reason this restaurant has been around for so long.

With its wide selection and affordable prices, Enrico's caters to picky eaters and adventurous foodies in equal measure.enricos pizza torontoEnrico's Pizza is located at 1736 Kingston Rd.
