Bikes On Wheels has relocated its former Queen Street outpost to a new home on Dundas West, a corner spot at Brock decorated in floor-to-ceiling timber wood and lined to the brim with some of the nicest looking bicycles in the city.

I'm told that the shop caters to city commuters, and that most of the bikes are one-speeders (both fixed and with free wheels).

The impressive ready-to-ride selection includes Linus, Norco, Fuji and more, plus the best collection of tricycles I've seen in years (seriously, the kids will be begging for a bike after a stop here).

Commuter and road bikes range between $415 and $700; however, some of the high-end road bikes can set you back almost three grand.

At second glance it becomes clear that Bikes On Wheels isn't just about ensuring you have a sleek-looking ride, but they want you, the rider, to look sleek too.

The shop is adorned with a collection of branded T-shirts, jerseys and tank-tops designed by Toronto-based illustrators,Doublenaut, as well as stylish windbreakers, rain vests (yep) and waterproof messenger bags / backpacks that even non-cyclists would covet.

Pedals, gloves, helmets and more are scattered around the shop, but I have to admit I was a bit distracted by the basket section - they have over ten styles to choose from, and ranging from woven leather to steel mesh to over-sized doggie carriages.

If your basket was stolen last year (twice) like mine was, Bikes on Wheels is bound to find you a replacement.

Another perk is that Bikes On Wheels runs beginner and advanced maintenanceworkshopsthroughout the summer for customers to get their hands dirty and to learn the ins and outs of their ride. Or just to learn how to change a flat tire.
