The high-ceilinged, 20-seat corner space formerly housedLuna Cafe(who themselves now have aJunction location) and still has old stained glass above huge windows, newly painted with signature lettering.

Detourcustom roasts beans for Good Neighbour, an espresso blend of rotating origins used for all espresso-based beverages, which are also always made with double shots.

Macchiatos, cortados and flat whites are all evenly priced at $3.95, the addition of milk balancing out comforting, familiar flavours of chocolate and nut in the Espresso Blend.

Lattes and large Americanos go for $4.58, chai and matcha lattes fetching $4.77.

The equipment made by Yama Glass takes about three minutes to brew a cup of coffee, but really brings out the more subtle notes of, say, marmalade and almond in beans from Timana, Colombia.

Cold brew ($3.75 - $4.25) is brewed using a full five-pound bag of Good Neighbour’s custom Filter Blend over sixteen hours for a glass of rocket fuel that’s not at all watered down, with subtle notes of toffee and fig.

A chicken and Tuscan kale panini ($9) on floury bread comes fromAnnette Food Market, and has a pop of flavour thanks to an herb mayo.

Pastries like pear danishes and croissants come from expert French retailerPetit Thuet.

Other items like scones, muffins and cookies are provided by德斯蒙德和比阿特丽斯.

Bags of all Good Neighbour’s custom beans are available to purchase at retail, as well as items like mugs that are insulated ($25) or uninsulated ($16).

Good Neighbour also has a partnership with nearbyFlying Books, the owner coming in regularly to refresh the selection and leave little handwritten blurbs.

A quaint six-table patio outside on the leafy street seats about 12.

You don’t even need a password to sign onto the WiFi here, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful laptop session.
